The VT Fitzroy Machine Shop is one of the largest facilities of its type in the country. Fully equipped with state of the art machinery, the workshop is fitted with full overhead craneage, allowing medium to heavy machining operations to a maximum handling weight of 10 tonnes.
The Machine Shop provides the full range of services expected in a modern facility of this calibre. These include computer and manual controlled machining, spiral weld repair, pressure testing, as well as a fully equipped valve repair and servicing section. Continued investment in advanced CNC milling and turning equipment will ensure that VT Fitzroy retains its position as one of the most skilled and capable companies operating in the marketplace today. All of these services are fully supported by an in-house Dimensional Inspection Centre.
Integrating all these resources with the use of CAD/CAM software, SMARTCAM and 3D modelling, ensures every detailed machining operation is planned for maximum efficiency. This enables VT Fitzroy to guarantee that work will be completed to specification, within tolerances and to the customer's satisfaction.
A fully equipped marine fitting and general engineering workshop is located on the site. This department can offer experienced and qualified personnel providing a range of services that include inspection, repairs and installation of marine and general engineering systems & components. These services can be provided on site, aboard vessels or at external locations.
